Gillian Anderson opened up about juggling soaring success of her series, The X-Files and motherhood during the early ’90s. In an interview with Grazia magazine, the 55-year-old actress revealed she was called back to work 10 days after she had a C-section to welcome her daughter Piper Klotz.
Anderson went on acknowledge her privilege status, heaping praise on single mothers who are also working to provide for their kids.
“10 days after a C-section,” she told the outlet. “I wouldn’t have chosen that but I had no choice.”
“I had help and I still struggled,” The Crown alum continued. “Women who raise children on their own are superwomen, they are amazing.”
“I didn’t know what the f*** I was doing!” Gillian exclaimed. “You’re upside down and you feel, sometimes, like you’re slightly going mad.”
