Trying to Conceive
Sadie and Jarvis Sampson had dreams of starting a family together. They tried everything to conceive naturally, from ovulation tests to fertility treatments. For 14 long months, they prayed and hoped for a positive pregnancy test, but each month brought disappointment.
Seeking Medical Help
Desperate for answers, Sadie and Jarvis sought help from doctors. Unfortunately, they were only told to lose weight as a potential solution. Sadie underwent gastric surgery and shed 28 pounds, hoping it would increase their chances of getting pregnant. But even after the weight loss, their dream of having a biological child remained unfulfilled.
A Text That Changed Everything
Just as Sadie and Jarvis were starting to lose hope, a text message arrived that would alter their lives forever. A friend reached out and asked if they would consider fostering a baby who needed temporary care. Although hesitant at first, the couple agreed. Little did they know, this decision would lead to the most incredible chapter of their lives.
From Fostering to Adoption
What started as a temporary foster arrangement soon turned into an opportunity for adoption. The birth mother decided that Sadie and Jarvis were the perfect parents for her child. Overnight, they went from being childless to becoming Mom and Dad.
Welcome to the World, Baby Ezra
Their baby boy, Ezra Lee, was born prematurely at 33 weeks, weighing just 4 lbs., 5 oz. Sadie vividly recalls the first time she saw him, swaddled in a white blanket with pink and blue stripes. Despite his tiny size and the challenges he faced as a premature baby, he was undeniably adorable.
Embracing Unconditional Love
Sadie and Jarvis shared their joy on social media and were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. Friends and strangers purchased 55 out of the 72 items on their registry within just three days. Their adoption of Ezra was finalized in October 2020, and they celebrated with a heartwarming family photoshoot, wearing matching t-shirts that proclaimed, “Families Don’t Have to Match.”
Expanding Their Loving Family
In 2021, Sadie and Jarvis’s family grew even bigger when they welcomed twin girls, Journee and Destinee, through embryo donation. These beautiful blessings completed their family, proving that love knows no boundaries.
Sharing the Message of Love
Sadie, Jarvis, and their three children are an extraordinary example of love transcending expectations and societal norms. They believe that family is not defined by genetics or appearances, but rather by the unbreakable bonds of love. Their inspiring story serves as a powerful reminder that families truly don’t have to match, and that love knows no limits.
