Getting the chance to love someone is both a blessing but also a curse. When the person you love is taken away from you and you are forced to go on without that person, it seems like the latter.

And for young mom, Sam Jensen, her life will never be the same again. She just recently lost her 3-year-old daughter Scarlett in the most terrible way.
It had all started with Scarlett spending a nice day with her 2-year-old brother Henry and their grandmother. The lovely trio had been enjoying a stroll in their hometown of Oldtown, in Idaho, USA when the heartbreaking incident happened.
The children’s grandmother, who was enjoying a day off with her grandchildren, had taken a photograph with her mobile phone. In the picture, the two small children can be seen walking along a path and seem to enjoy being together.
What none of them knew was that this would be the last photo ever of little Scarlett in her life. Just moments later, the 3-year-old lost her life, according to reports.

A driver drove just moments after the photo was taken – onto the narrow road. He hit the family out for a stroll, little Scarlett suffered more from the impact than others.
The second the driver hit her little body, she died, and the little 3-year-old girl’s life could not be saved.
When the children’s mother heard the news, she was attending a wedding. The children’s grandmother was looking after the kids so their mother could attend the wedding. She had no idea when she said goodbye to her children, it would be the last time she would be seeing her little girl.

After posting the last picture of her baby girl in life, the video has gone viral.
At the time of writing it has received 2.4 million views and many are sending their condolences to mum Sam.
“That afternoon they went to get ice cream and enjoy a walk together,” the grieving mother said, adding, “When they arrived home to our back driveway, Scarlett wanted to get out of the stroller to pick flowers. That’s when my mom took the last picture I have of her alive.”
Sam’s mother had done everything in her power to protect her grandchildren. But everything had been in vain.
“My mother was waving her hands, screaming for him to stop and she tried to grab my children to move them out of the way but he was going too fast,” Jensen told People Magazine. “Scarlett was killed almost instantly and my mom and Henry were critically injured.”

Now the family is forced to live on without a grandchild, a daughter and a sister. A short time after the tragic event, the driver was arrested.
The man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Justice has been served, but the wounds remain.
The comfort in the dark is nevertheless the last photograph taken of daughter Scarlett, even though it was taken only seconds before her life was over.
Now two years after the incident, she says, “I am so incredibly thankful to have that photo. It captures the peaceful feeling of her last moments, the beauty she was surrounded by when she took her last breaths. I will forever picture her happy and carefree, picking flowers with her best friend and Meemaw.”
